Position Summary:

The North Haven Police Department is accepting applications for the position of CT POST CERTIFIED Police Officer. We are seeking individuals of high integrity that are committed to service to join our progressive police agency. Our Police Officers perform law enforcement duties involving; the protection of life and property, the prevention of crime, the apprehension of criminal suspects, traffic enforcement, the preservation of peace while working closely with the community and public service duties involving non-criminal calls for service. Police officers work 40 hours per week picking their shift and days off by a seniority bidding system. The schedule includes working nights, weekends and holidays. Entry level officers perform related work as required and receive close supervision.

Requirements:

  • CT POST CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED
  • Candidate must have NO Felony or Class A or B Misdemeanor Convictions
  • Candidates must be a US citizen, possess valid CT driver’s license at time of appointment, have earned a High School Diploma (or GED Equivalent), be a non-smoker, and be at least age 21 upon appointment.
  • Candidates will need to have taken and passed (minimum passing score of 70%) a CPCA Certified Police Officer written exam prior to the closing date for applications.
