Sheriff – Detention Deputy
Salary: $5,263 to $5,992.

Position Summary:
The Sheriff’s Department is accepting applications for a full-time 40 hours per week Detention Deputy. This position performs a variety of routine and complex public safety work in the performance of the Detention Division, providing for the incarceration and well-being of pre-sentenced and sentenced inmates. Works under the direct supervision of a Detention Sergeant, and the general supervision of the Detention Administrator (Captain), Undersheriff, or Sheriff.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years or older at the time of employment.
- Must be able to communicate in English, both written and orally.
- Must be of good moral character and of temperate and industrious habits.
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid State Driver’s License without record of suspension or revocation in any state.
- No felony convictions and/or serious misdemeanor, disqualifying criminal histories.
- Ability to meet Department’s physical standards.
- Ability to obtain a certification for CPR/First Aid.
- Other job related tests may be required.
