Sergeant – Sheriff’s Office (Patrol)
Salary: $32.73 – $33.39
Essential Functions:
- Supervises the activities of subordinates.
- Compiles information and writes monthly statistical reports on work activities and submits them to the Lieutenant.
- Analyzes reports prepared and submitted by deputies for accuracy, completeness, and essential elements.
- Supervises personnel by providing leadership to Field Deputies; providing assistance and coordinating resources as needed, managing time off requests and representing personnel to management.
- Assist with the training of personnel and the supervision of the Field training program by checking the status of trainees, checking the documentation process, and reporting the findings to the Field Training Coordinator.
- Performs patrol duties by responding to radio calls as needed, conducting field investigations, providing documentation, assisting other agencies, and completing special tasks as assigned.
- Supervises, directs and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
- This position shift is midnights. The position may change shifts and or work hours from tie to time to assist with the missions of the department.
Requirements:
- Requires High School graduation or GED Equivalent
- Intermediate TCOLE Peace Officer License – Supervisory experience preferred
- Patrol experience required (5 years)
- Must meet the Criteria for Promotion under General Orders I-B-3
- Intermediate TCOLE Peace Officers License
