Senior Dispatcher

Salary: $29.4076-$42.6612

Position Summary:

The work involves responsibility for overseeing the activities and performing the duties of a Dispatcher on an assigned shift in the County 911 Communication Center. Many of the functional duties are similar to those of Dispatcher, however, the incumbent functions as the Dispatcher in charge on an assigned shift. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Director or higher ranking officer with leeway allowed for use of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. Does related work as required

Requirements:

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience dispatching police, fire, or other emergency personnel or vehicles through the use of radio/telephone equipment data entry or typing.
• Promotion is limited to employees with current permanent status as Dispatcher who have held the title of Dispatcher for at least 24 months immediately preceding the filling of an application for the position of Senior Dispatcher.
