Senior Deputy Sheriff – Uniform Patrol
Salary: $25.86 per hour
Position Summary:
This position performs police work involving the protection of life and property, the enforcement of laws, and the investigation of crime.
Essential Functions:
- An incumbent in this position may be give special duty assignments.
- Performs various law enforcement tasks for the patrol division, evaluates and deciphers emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Enforces motor vehicle laws, directs traffic. Investigates crimes, interviews witnesses, reviews and prepares reports.
- Provides escorts to prisoners and during funeral processions. Issues court subpoenas, executes warrants for arrest/search, and executes court orders.
- Investigates missing person reports, animal complaints and maintains crowd control.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, P.O.S.T. certification as a Law Enforcement Officer.
- Vocational or technical school training in criminal justice, law enforcement or closely related area.
- A minimum of one year experience in law enforcement or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license and attend regular training in addition to holding required certifications as deemed necessary by the Sheriff and state regulations.
