Salary: $57,700.12 – $98,090.20 Annually.

Position Summary:

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is seeking professional, dedicated individuals who are interested in a position as a Public Safety Telecommunicator working 42-hours per week. Loudoun County is one of the fastest growing Counties in the Commonwealth of Virginia and offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The position may include rotating shifts and on-call for emergency situations.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the telephone equipment and its usage.
  • Receive calls for service from the public and promptly determine the urgency of the call.
  • Processing the call efficiently and accurately while maintaining a professional, courteous and reassuring demeanor with the callers.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and accurately enter calls for service into the Computer Aided Dispatch system.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and control of the radio equipment and dispatch appropriate units.

Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and two (2) years’ experience working in a call center or providing customer service.
  • Must be a United States Citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States and eligible for naturalization.
  • Applicants with less than 2 years work experience may be considered at a lower classification with the following minimum education and experience requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of work experience in a call center or providing customer service preferred.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bilingual ability preferred.
