Public Safety Patrol Officer
Position Summary:
This full-time role involves maintaining order, regulating traffic, protecting life and property, and providing assistance during emergency medical calls and other emergency response activities.
Essential Functions:
- Public Safety Patrol Officers must be able to prepare investigative reports and other documents.
- Officers are expected to operate emergency vehicles safely during emergency situations.
- An understanding of relevant laws and policies is necessary to ensure proper conduct during enforcement activities, direct traffic, and serve legal documents, such as subpoenas and warrants.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- United States citizen.
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- Additionally, candidates must be Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) certified, certifiable, or successfully complete a Michigan recognized police academy.
- The selection process requires passing a medical exam, psychiatric exam, and background check.
- A valid Michigan Vehicle Operator’s License and a clean driving record are also necessary
