Public Safety Communication Supervisor
Salary: $6,874.40 – $8,779.33 Monthly
Position Summary:
The Public Safety Communications Supervisor reports directly to the Administrative Services Manager, and is responsible for day-to-day operations and technical support for the public safety dispatching services, emergency medical dispatching services, 911 operations, and the training function.
Requirements:
- Graduation from high school or GED and three (3) years experience in emergency radio dispatching. One (1) year of supervisory or lead work experience is preferred. Experience with CAD is preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid California Class C Driver’s License.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid California Public Safety Dispatcher POST and Emergency Medical Dispatch certification within one (1) year of hire.
- Possesses a high degree of understanding public safety;
- Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices;
- Experience with automation and communication and record management systems, including knowledge of Federal regulations related to public safety communications and criminal history record-keeping;
- Knowledge of public safety communications principles and practices, including but not limited to modern equipment, techniques, and methods of radio communication;
- Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
- Strong skills in team-building, coaching, mentoring staff members; and
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with management, coworkers, and the public.
