PSO1 – Campus Police Officer
Position Summary:
The Public Safety Officer for Dillard University’s Police Department conducts interior and exterior unarmed or armed patrols; locks and unlocks buildings; provides safety escorts; and, provides stationary post coverage.
Essential Functions:
- Completes all assigned duties by established deadline and in accordance with established or defined protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Apprises supervisor of issues that might impeded timely completion of assigned duties and/or departmental projects.
- Exercises sound judgment and discretion at all times and maintains cooperative working relationships with both internal and external constituencies and co‐workers.
- Exhibits a willingness to perform other duties as requested or required efficiently and timely.
- Complies with all policies and procedures as stipulated in the Dillard University Employee Handbook.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Must obtain Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification within 360 days from date of hire, and must maintain certification as a condition of continued employment.
- Must have a valid and unrestricted (not including corrective lens needs) U.S. Driver’s License and must meet the Dillard
