Salary: $54,826 – $68,000

Position Summary:

The Town of Aberdeen Police Department is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Police Sergeant. Primary responsibilities of the job will be to supervise, monitor and inspect the work of the officers on shift and fill in for the Lieutenant as needed. The Sergeant will assist the Lieutenant with duties as assigned, including providing field training to new officers.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in law enforcement
  • Ability to conduct progressive disciplinary action when needed
  • Ability to motivate officers within the department
  • Ability to multi-task in high stress situations
  • Ability to communicate with the public in a professional and positive manner
  • Field Training Officer training required or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • First Line Supervision and DCI training modules 1-3 required or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word
  • No disciplinary action within the last year
