Salary: $73,377.82.

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts internal affairs investigations to ascertain facts and obtain evidence on alleged violations and misconduct.
  • Interviews involved parties and obtains statements; Collects and reviews the evidence.
  • Prepares comprehensive and detailed reports of investigations.
  • Testifies in administrative hearings.
  • Maintains a level of understanding and familiarity with the department’s policies and procedures, county personnel policy, county ordinances, state laws, and case law sufficient to perform the assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Manages and ensures departmental compliance with GACP state certification and CALEA accreditation standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED;
  • Supplemented by 40 semester college hours from an accredited college/university or have obtained at least 400 hours of advanced law enforcement-related training or a combination of college hours and training hours to equal 400 equivalent training hours.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of previous law enforcement experience, including one (1) year experience with internal affairs investigations and 18 months experience as a police supervisor at the rank of Sergeant or higher.
  • Must possess and maintain valid Georgia P.O.S.T. Peace Officer certification or be eligible to obtain certification through the equivalency of the training process.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
