Police Recruit
Salary: $22.00 Hourly.
Position Summary:
While attending the academy and under direct supervision, participates in the course of study necessary to gain peace officer status. Candidates are required to maintain a good standing while attending the academy and are expected to represent themselves in a manner consistent with the values and expectations of the Kingsburg Police Department. Candidates are expected to advance into a police officer position. Also, under direct supervision, assists police officers and professional staff in non-hazardous duties, processes prisoners, performs clerical duties, and performs related duties as required. May be selected to attend a California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) basic training academy.
Essential Functions:
- Assists police officers and professional staff in routine office work.
- Assists police officers in routine non-hazardous field work.
- Assist the public as needed.
- Performs fingerprinting, photography, and prisoner processing.
- Conducts non-hazardous investigations and writes reports and completes other required paperwork.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Age: At least Twenty (20) years of age.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of thirty (30) college units from an accredited college or university that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system. Veterans are exempt from the 30 college unit requirement.
- Experience: None required. Licenses and Certificates: Possession of a valid California Driver License and a good driving record.
