Salary:
• Uncertified no degree $29.62/hr.
• Certified officer with AA degree Police Science $31.82/hr.
• Certified with BA degree in Criminal Justice $32.82/hr
Position Summary:
The Sergeant Bluff Police Department is seeking interested candidates to interview and place on a pre-approval list to hire. Sergeant Bluff is a community of 5,015 people (2020 Census) with a 9 officer police department which includes a Chief, Assistant Chief, and a full-time School Resource Officer.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent / AA or BA in Criminal Justice or related field preferred
- At least 20 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Not addicted to drugs or alcohol
- Good moral character
- Must successfully pass physical agility testing adopted by I.L.E.A.
- Pass P.O.S.T. (Police officers selection Test) written test
- Pass background check
- Pass Oral interview exam
- Meet all other minimum standards required by I.L.E.A. rules
- Must have uncorrected vision of not less than 20-100 in both eyes and corrected to 20-20
- Must pass color vision testing
- Must have normal hearing
- Meet all other medical minimum standards required by I.L.E.A. rules
