Police Officer (New Officer or Lateral)
Salary: $57,033.60 Annually.
Essential Functions:
- Ensuring public safety by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, protecting people and property, enforcing laws, and promoting community relations.
- Conducting thorough investigations, preserving crime scenes, and preparing detailed reports to uphold the law.
- Engaging with the community, explaining laws and procedures, and representing the City with professionalism and respect.
- Operating police vehicles, patrolling city streets, and responding effectively to various incidents.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Experience: A combination of education and training demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills.
- Age Requirement: At least 21 years old at the time of appointment.
- Citizenship: Must possess or be able to obtain US citizenship per OAR 259-008-0010.
- Physical Ability: Meet physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties, including running, climbing, and lifting.
Preferred Requirements:
- Language Skills: Bi-lingual ability in Spanish and English.
- Education: Higher-level educational degre.
