Police Officer Entry Level/Lateral

2026 Base pay: $32.86 – $43.65 per hour ($68,348.80 – $90,792 annually) based on previous experience as a Police Officer. Shifts are 12 hours with shift differential pay added.

What’s the role?

The Police Officer’s primary responsibility is to promote community order and protect life and property through the preservation of the public peace, prevention of crime, and enforcement of laws. The Hudson Police Department is committed to the philosophy of community-oriented policing in dealing with the issues of the day. At the commencement of employment, both laterals and entry level recruits will begin their field training program, the length of which may be modified based upon performance and experience. • Ohio Peace Officers Commission Training certificate

• Vacation watch and senior watch visits
• Providing public assistance and education
• Participation METRO SWAT, Bike Unit, Detective Bureau, U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force
