Salary: $57,330 – $73,000
Position Summary:
The Newnan Police Department is a State Certified agency and serves as a leader in the public safety community. We offer advanced training opportunities, rotating twelve-hour shifts, take home vehicles, modern equipment, specialized unit assignments, and a team-based work environment.
Essential Functions:
- Patrol City of Newnan streets, parks, commercial and residential areas to preserve the peace and enforce the law.
- Prevent, detect and investigate misconduct involving misdemeanors, felonies and other law violations and to otherwise serve and protect.
- Respond to emergencies and investigate accidents, robberies, civil disturbances, domestic disputes, fights, drunkenness, missing children, prowlers, abuse of drugs and take appropriate law enforcement action.
- Conduct follow-up investigations of crimes committed during assigned shift.
- Prepare cases for testimony and testifies in court proceedings.
- Accurately complete required reports and records.
- Carry out duties in conformance with Federal, State, County, and City laws and ordinances
- Coordinate and cooperate with other City departments, law enforcement agencies and other legal entities as needed and assigned.
Requirements:
- Valid US driver’s license free of suspensions or revocations

- High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by completion of basic police officer training program.
