Salary: $21.45 – $26.81

Essential Functions:

  • Receives telephone calls and visitors with professional courtesy, attentiveness, and concern and processes such incoming calls and messages expediently. Resolves citizen’s issues and provides information regarding police policies and procedures.
  • Performs clerical functions relating to record keeping, filing, and report preparation for Police Department.
  • Operates office equipment including computer, computer terminal, calculator, typewriter, postage meter, copy machine, telephone, etc.
  • Prepares and files or forwards police documents, Uniform Crime Report, Racial Profiling Report, warrants, complaints, and courtesy letters.
  • Creates and maintains reports of calls for service, radio traffic logs during dispatch hours, vehicle maintenance logs, monthly statistics for Department and individual officers, and other information as necessary.
  • Assists Chief of Police or his designee with typing and compiling of Bay-Watch material, crime prevention material, statistics records, and with all necessary Public Safety functions.
  • Performs other dispatch and clerical duties as delegated by the Chief of Police or his designee.
  • Prepares monthly and yearly reports detailing activity at Police Department.
  • Compiles and maintains Departmental payroll, vacation, and sick time statistics and monitors and codes Police Department budget. Interacts with vendors, suppliers, and City personnel as needed.
  • Utilizes and maintains the computer records system for police cases, calls for service, and traffic citations.
  • Operates TLETS/NLETS equipment in accordance with state and federal regulations. Maintains certification in the use and dissemination of such information.
  • May perform administrative duties for other departments on case by case basis as assigned.
  • Performs police dispatching duties for routine traffic or calls for service that come in to the Police Department in supplementation of the main dispatching center at the Marble Falls Police Department.

Requirements:

  • Twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Must not have any type of criminal arrest history that might deny access to DPS systems

Preferred Requirements:

  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or associate degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A TCOLE basic telecommunicator license is preferred.
