Position Summary:

As a Police Officer for the City of Liberty Hill, you’ll do more than just enforce the law, you’ll be an essential part of our community. Patrol our neighborhoods, build positive relationships with residents, and work collaboratively to prevent crime and solve problems. Essential Functions:

  • Community Policing: Patrol assigned areas to deter crime, engage with residents, and promote safety and trust.
  • Crime Prevention & Investigation: Respond to calls for service, investigate accidents and offenses, gather evidence, and ensure thorough documentation.
  • Traffic & Safety Enforcement: Monitor roadways for unsafe driving behavior, conduct DWI enforcement, and issue citations as necessary.
  • Emergency Response: Act decisively and calmly in stressful situations, maintaining control and professionalism under pressure.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with fellow officers, city departments, and neighboring agencies to enhance public safety and coordinate emergency response.
  • Professionalism: Uphold the highest ethical standards, demonstrating respect, accountability, and compassion both on and off duty.

Requirements:

  • Certification: TCOLE Certified Peace Officer (or currently enrolled in an accredited academy).
  • Knowledge: Familiar with Texas state and federal laws, city ordinances, criminal procedures, and law enforcement best practices.
  • Skills: Strong communication (written and verbal), problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Character: Committed to fairness, empathy, and ethical conduct.
  • Physical Ability: Capable of meeting the physical demands of patrol work, including running, climbing, lifting, and defensive actions when required.
