Police Officer
Salary: $40,000-$60,000.
Position Summary:
The job of School Police Officer (Act 44 Article XIII-C Section 1301-c) is a law officer employed by a school district whose responsibilities, including, working work hours that are established by the school district. The Police Officer is appointed by the Court of Common Pleas and is authorized by the court, to exercise the same powers as exercised under the authority of law or ordinance by the police of the municipality in which the school property is located and serve as such at any designated school as directed by the Superintendent and or the Chief of Police/Director of School and Public Safety.
Requirements:
- Preferred minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- NASRO Basic School Resource Officer Course of instruction or equivalent but not needed to apply.
- Officers who are appointed by the court as a School Police Officer will have to meet the Act 120 annual training requirements including firearms qualification.
- Must maintain minimum of 12 hours of mandatory in-service training and maintain a current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
- Additional department training requirements per SOPs.
