Police Officer
Salary: $51,000-$54500 per year
Position Summary:
Serves as a Patrol Officer to protect life and property, prevent crime, preserve the peace, apprehend criminal subjects, maintain order, be aware of impending community problems; performs departmental maintenance as needed or directed; and other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Responds to all law enforcement related calls.
- Ensures that all assigned equipment is in an operable condition.
- Patrols assigned area.
- Assists the public in any way which is police related.
- Assists other officers as required.
- Issues summons for traffic or City Ordinance violations.
- Investigates suspicious activity.
- Investigates traffic accidents.
- Arrests, processes, and transports criminal suspects to appropriate detention facilities.
- May be required to assist in other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Satisfactory results of background and employment screening checks including physical exam, psychological evaluation, and drug screening.
- Must be bondable.
- Must complete the City Field Training Program.
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Peace Officer license.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class “C” Texas Driver’s License.
- All required certifications and licenses must be current and valid.
