Police Officer
Salary: $55,016.00 – $74,963.20.
Position Summary:
The Whitehouse Police Department is seeking a diverse, highly motivated, community oriented individual with integrity willing to face a variety of challenges and responsibilities, one who is committed to working in partnership with the residents of our growing community to provide a safe, secure environment to enhance the quality of life. This is accomplished by patrolling, performing preliminary or follow-up criminal investigations, accident investigation and traffic control while enforcing federal and state laws as well as local municipal ordinances.
Requirements:
- Must possess a Texas Peace Officer’s License or other State Peace Officer License.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Have no class B or higher convictions for the past 10 years.
- Have no class A or felony convictions.
- Must not have been convicted or placed on community supervision for an offense involving family violence as defined under Chapter 71, Texas Family Code.
- Applicants with prior military service must have an Honorable discharge.
- Must be able to work twelve (12) hour patrol shifts, weekends and holidays.
- Applicant must take and pass a background investigation, interview, pre-employment psychological exam, drug screen and physical administered by the City of Whitehouse appointed physician at the City’s expense.
- Applicant must have a current valid class “C” driver’s license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record. Out of State Applicants much have an equivalent valid driver’s license from that state.
- Must be able to pass a psychological, physical, and drug test.
- Must be able to complete physical tasks such as climbing stairs, lifting 20 pounds, running and standing for extended time.
- Must pass an extensive background check.
