Police Officer
Salary: $78,488 – $84,374
Position Summary:
As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, preventing crime, and enforcing laws and ordinances. You will be required to patrol assigned areas, respond to emergency calls, conduct investigations, and provide community services. This role demands a high level of integrity, physical fitness, and a commitment to public service.
Essential Functions:
- Patrol assigned areas on foot, or in a patrol car to prevent and detect crime.
- Monitor traffic to ensure compliance with traffic laws and issue citations as needed.
- Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as required.
- Be attentive to their duties at all times, and shall perform all duties assigned to them, even if such duties are not specifically assigned to them in any departmental rules or procedures manual.
- Enforce local, state, and federal laws.
- Arrest individuals suspected of committing crimes, ensuring proper procedure and rights are upheld.
- Serve warrants and subpoenas as directed by the court.
- Conduct preliminary investigations at crime scenes, gather evidence, and interview witnesses.
- Prepare detailed reports on investigations, arrests, and incidents.
- Testify in court regarding the facts and circumstances of cases handled.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the community to foster trust and cooperation.
- Participate in community outreach programs to educate the public on safety and crime prevention.
- Mediate disputes and assist in resolving conflicts within the community.
- Complete and submit reports, logs, and other required documentation accurately and promptly.
- Maintain knowledge of new laws, regulations, and procedures by attending training sessions and seminars.
- Respond to accidents, natural disasters, and other emergencies, providing first aid and coordinating with emergency services as needed.
- Manage crowd control during public events, protests, or other large gatherings.
Requirements:
- Be of good moral and ethical character.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Minimum two years as a full-time Peace Officer.
- Valid Driver License
- Ability to pass oral interview, thorough background investigation and drug test.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field is preferred.
- Completion of a recognized police academy training program.
Preferred Requirements:
- Two years minimum experience in law enforcement five years (preferred).
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
