Police Officer
Lateral officers will start at the union matrix for years of service. Starting base wage for a patrol officer is $24.80 hour. Additional $1.00 per hour for night shift and .75 cents for afternoon shift. Officers earn a 5% increase after completing 4 years of service with an additional 1% of their base wage added per year for longevity.
Benefits include a 20-year full retirement at any age with a guaranteed 3% increase in the benefit every year for life, optional DROP participation after 20 years for service, 100% health insurance coverage for employee, holiday pay, vacation, sick and comp leave. Paid membership to one of two fitness facilities in Miles City.
Officers are allowed to build 120 hours of comp time and cash it in twice a year, optional 457 plan and Roth IRA through Nationwide, $720 uniform allowance. Additional stipends for certifications and college degrees.
