Centerville Police Department

Salary: $32.78 – $46.00 per hour.

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts criminal investigations and apprehends criminals.
  • Regulates traffic and enforces traffic laws.
  • Conducts preventive patrol.
  • Conducts or assists with investigations and/or responds to criminal and civil complaints.
  • Makes arrests as required by law; processes prisoners.
  • Makes required reports and takes affidavits; maintains logs and ledgers.
  • Receives, assists and transmits emergency calls by radio or telephone.
  • Operates law enforcement equipment and instruments. Maintains required licenses and certificates, including a valid Ohio driver’s license, Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate, firearms proficiency, the ability to be bonded, and physical fitness.
  • The work schedule will include rotating shifts, including weekends/evenings/holidays.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in law enforcement and/or a closely related field, or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Program.
  • Possession of a valid Ohio driver’s license.
  • Must meet physical qualifications for admittance to an approved OPOTA-certified training academy.
  • Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate.
  • Must meet the requirements to be bonded.
  • LEADS Certification.
