RECRUITMENT PROCESS
All phases of the process are administered, scored, evaluated, and interpreted in a uniform manner. All selection process phases for a law enforcement officer are considered in accordance with requirements, responsibilities, duties and training academy requirements. The testing types and phases of the Non-experienced sworn officer applicant process are outlined (not necessarily in precise order) as follows:

- Written Examination (Lateral/Certified Exempt)

- Staff Oral Interview
- Background Investigation
- Conditional Offer
- Acceptance into 1977 INPRS (Lateral/Certified Exempt if INPRS Qualified)

VACATION & SICK LEAVE
- Probation Period-8 sick hrs./4 vacation hrs. (Lateral Exempt)

HOLIDAY LEAVE
**Employee assigned to a rotating shift will be granted the number of days equal to the number of holidays designated by the Town Council based upon their assigned schedule (i.e. if on 12 hr shift employee will receive total of addition- al 168 paid leave to use during year.
