Police Officer
Partner and communicate with the citizens, who live, work, visit, or pass through the Town of Northlake and contracted patrol areas. Become an advocate for community partnerships for the Police Department, by contacting citizens on a daily basis and knowing the needs of the community.
Salary
Starting pay for Police Officer – $56,160 annually – Experienced Officers may start at higher rate depending on experience
Responsibilities:
Patrol town, including responding to service calls, enforcing state mandated laws and town ordinances, and issuing citations; perform traffic duties, including enforcing traffic laws, investigating accidents, directing traffic; communicate with the public regarding service calls, complaints, and requests for information; make arrests of suspects; prepare activity and arrest reports; testify in court as needed; secure crime scenes and conduct crime scene investigations, including taking photographs and fingerprints; and participate in job-related training.
Qualifications:
21 years of age U.S. Citizen Valid Texas Driver License High school diploma Read, write, and speak English in a manner understandable to others Registered with Selective Service If you served in military, must have honorable discharge Must be willing to work any shift Must be willing to respond to duty outside of normal shift Must meet grooming and dress code requirements Able to visually perceive and identify the colors of red, blue, yellow, green and brown Pass physical agility assessment Pass written exam with at least minimum score Pass Oral Interview Review Board Pass extensive background check Pass psychological exam provided by department Pass medical exam provided by department Pass interview with Chief of Police Be of good moral character.
