Police Officer

Salary: $50,000- $52,000

Position Summary:

Under general supervision, provides lawenforcement and crime prevention; enforceslocal and state traffic regulations; issuescitations; performs a variety of technical andadministrative tasks in support of lawenforcement services and activities.

Essential Functions:

• Patrols designated areas of the City on an assigned shift to prevent criminal activityand provide law enforcement.
• Completes various activity reports, legaldocuments and other related documentation.
• Responds to calls for the protectionoflifeand property, law and ordinanceenforcement, general public service and complaints regarding automobile accidents, traffic hazards, misdemeanor andfelonyincidents, domestic disturbance, propertycontrol, civil complaints and relatedsituations.

Requirements:

• Be a citizen of the United States;
• Possess a valid Texas Driver’s License;
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age at the time of Appointment;
• Must possess a Texas Peace Officer License or eligible to attend the Basic Peace Officer Academy;
• Possess High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Military veterans will not be considered with a DISHONORABLE DISCHARGE documented by a DD-214;
• Must pass a medical and psychological evaluation
