Police Officer
Salary: $70,265.96 – $103,876.64.
Essential Functions:
- Respond to and investigate citizen calls for service; alarms, assaults, criminal mischief, burglary, disturbances, fires, fraud, criminal violations, and any other calls for assistance.
- Investigate criminal activity; maintain, preserve, and guard crime scenes; make forced entries into homes and businesses when necessary; conduct vehicle searches, conduct follow-up criminal investigations when assigned.
- Process crime scenes for evidence, i.e. latent fingerprints, photos, footprints, etc.
- Prepare reports and paperwork including arrest reports, vehicle crash reports, daily activity reports, and other reports as required.
- Conduct selective traffic enforcement initiatives and issue traffic citations and warnings to violators; issue N.T.A’s to violators of municipal ordinances.
- Conduct roadside sobriety tests; administer blood alcohol tests; obtain urine samples, as necessary.
- Interview victim of crimes; locate and interview witnesses; obtain assistance and treatment for victims when required, photograph injuries.
Requirements:
- At this time we are accepting applications for Florida Certified Officers.
- Applicants are not required to have any experience prior to application.
- Testing Requirements All testing at the Broward Institute of Public Safety is required for non-certified applicants.
- Certified Officers should submit a current motor skills and Swim Test. All results should be attached to the application unless applying from out of state.
