Police Investigator
Position Summary:
Responsible for follow-up investigation of incidents involving AISD students, personnel, and/or property. Assists in gathering information or evidence for use in court or administrative purposes. Prepares detailed synopsis of events and incidents involving AISD students and personnel.
Essential Functions:
- Supports and assists the officers and administration in their efforts of fulfilling the School Boards’ goal of providing a safe environment to learn.
- Maintains confidentiality, discretion and professionalism as it relates to information (verbal, written or electronic) which is personal, sensitive and confidential in nature. Ill not divulge without express consent or direction of their supervisor.
- Exhibits regular and timely attendance at work.
- Conducts follow-up investigations of incidents involving AISD students, personnel and/or property.
- Assists AISD Administration, staff and officers with the gathering of information or evidence for use in court or administrative purposes.
- Assists school staff in emergency situations.
- Responds to calls for assistance from AISD Personnel for incidents occurring on and off AISD Property.
- Prepares detailed synopsis of events and incidents occurring on/off AISD Property, but involves AISD students or personnel.
- Recovery of stolen property belonging to AISD from other law enforcement agencies, pawnshops and/or persons who have possession of property.
- Acts as a liaison with other federal, state, county or local agencies.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Texas Peace Officer License issued by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)
- Intermediate Peace Officer Certification; Advanced or higher Peach Officer Certification preferred
- Clear and valid Texas driver’s license with appropriate insurance coverage
- Three (3) years of law enforcement experience as a fulltime Peace Officer
- No sustained IAD or Administrative Complaints in the last one (1) year
