Patrol Deputy
The Patrol Division of the Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the full time position of Patrol Deputy.
Preventing crime by explaining and enforcing applicable federal, state, county, and local laws and ordinances; teaching preventative, protective, and defensive tactics; mediating disputes; patrolling assigned area; responding to notices of disturbances; conducting searches; observing suspicious activities; detaining suspects. Any additional assignments as directed by the Sheriff or his designee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required qualifications:
- Completion of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Law Enforcement Pre-Service Training Program, High School Diploma or equivalent, knowledge of criminal and motor vehicle laws, experience and training in law enforcement or in the military.
Preferred qualifications:
- Completion of the Basic Law Enforcement Training Program (BLETP) at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy (or waiver for equivalent); college degree(s) or completion of Criminal Justice Program.
