The Chichester Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of a certified (NH or out of state) or non-certified full time Police Officer,
Candidates may be required to complete a written exam, physical agility test, oral board, polygraph, medical exam, psychological exam and an extensive background investigation.
Full Time NH Certified Police Officer applicants are eligible for a structured $10,000 sign on bonus paid over 24 months. Out of state certified applicants are eligible for a $5,000 structured bonus.
Chichester Police Officers are responsible for responding to call for service, conducting criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, and participating in various community policing initiatives. Our officers have the opportunity to work and resolve cases from start to finish and make long lasting community connections.
With a population of approximately 2700 residents, Chichester is a growing town that is supportive of their Police Department and provides a friendly, small-town atmosphere.
Wages for non-certified candidates start at $28.00 for field training and while in the Police Academy. Upon successful completion of FTO and graduation of the Police Academy wages increase. Wages for certified candidates range from $30.00 to $34.00 depending on qualifications and years of prior law enforcement experience.
Benefits include: Paid vacation, sick and personal time. 11 paid holidays. Mandatory enrollment in the NH retirement system. Medical, Dental and Life insurance available. Extra details at a rate of $65.00.
Candidates must be a United States Citizen, 21 years of age or older, have a high school diploma or GED. No criminal record and a valid drivers’ license. A college degree and/or military experience is preferred.
