Emergency Communications Operator
Salary: $37,232.00 Annually.
Position Summary:
This is general public safety work involving the responsibility of answering routine and emergency police/fire calls and for associated dispatching necessary police/fire personnel and equipment resources.
Essential Functions:
- Receives and records all incoming calls and dispatches police/fire department vehicles and personnel as required.
- Monitors police/fire vehicles as to time and locations.
- Receives and relays messages, types forms and post general information sheet items.
- Makes periodic test reading of communications circuits.
- Maintains all FCIC and NCIC training requirements and records.
- Performs other related duties as directed

Requirements:
- Possess thorough knowledge of dispatching principles and procedures.
- Considerable knowledge of City boundaries, public facilities, and fire districts
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Possess a Florida Operator license.
- High School Diploma or Florida approved GED
- Required Certification – 911 Safety Telecommunicator Certification within one year of hire.
