Salary: $27.28 hourly

Position Summary:

Perform a variety of routine and specialized tasks in the maintenance of security, incarceration, and welfare of inmates.

Essential Functions:

  • Receive and incarcerate inmates, preventing escape or riot and enforce all laws, rules, procedures, and regulations of the Detention Center.
  • Provide for the personal and hygienic welfare of the inmates.
  • Transport inmates, in a secured status as directed by the courts, outside the Detention Center.
  • Log and document all Detention Center happenings including disruptions, inmate status, property records, medical records, and behavior issues.
  • Ability and willingness to work shifts, weekends and holidays.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; corrections/detention courses from an accredited college preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years dealing with the public, prefer supervisory experience.
  • Must work with tact and professionalism.
  • Current and valid Colorado Driver’s License
  • Current Colorado State Peace Officer (POST) Certification (preferred, but not required)
  • Self Defense Training
  • CPR Certification
  • First Aid Certification
