Deputy Sheriff

Salary: $26.32

Essential Functions:

• Deputies are responsible for enforcing local and state laws, preventing and suppressing crime and accidents, serving legal processes of the courts and promoting public safety through community policing principles and other duties assigned.

Requirements:

– Must be at least 21 years of age
– High school diploma or GED certificate
– Valid drivers license with an insurable driving history
– No prior felonies or simple assault domestic violence convictions
– Successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation
– Current South Dakota Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Training Commission Certificate, or the ability to obtain certification within one year of hire
– Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays
