Starting wage is $18.00 per hour plus $.40 shift differential for night shift, plus county benefits: health insurance, sick leave, vacation, retirement (KP&F), uniforms, take home patrol vehicles, equipment, training, etc.
Must be at least 21 years old with valid driver’s license, H.S. Diploma or GED. Other pre-employment requirements include a written general knowledge test, physical agility test, background investigation, physical, psychological exam, and drug screen. If not already KLETC certified, must successfully complete the next available law enforcement basic academy 14-week course.
For applicants that are already KLETC certified, the rate of pay will be dependent upon experience and qualifications.
