Corrections Officer
Salary: $22.9024 per hour
Position Summary:
Corrections Officers maintain the safety and security of the Solon Detention Facility while maintaining the care, custody and control of inmates. This position is governed under a collective bargaining agreement with the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association
Requirements:
- The successful candidate will be trained in 160 hours on-the-job training program and will be required to successfully complete the Correction Officer Basic Academy course and become a State Certified Correction Officer; however, preference will be given to those candidates currently holding this certification.
- CPR, First Aid and AED training are helpful.
- Candidates must be at least nineteen years of age by appointment date, have excellent communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Applicants must pass a criminal background investigation, voice– stress analyzer, psychological examination and medical examination.
