Corrections Officer
Salary: $22.68 to $27.61 per hour.
Position Summary:
Perform work in the care and custody of Adults in Custody (AIC) in the Grant County Criminal Justice Facility. Process individuals in and out of the facility, provide meal service and dispense medicine to AIC’s, recordkeeping, housekeeping, and other daily operations in and around the facility.
Requirements:
- 21 years of age or older for legal qualification.
- High school graduation or equivalency.
- Some knowledge of policies, procedures and techniques relating to the custody, care and transportation of AIC’s, and the applicable laws and regulations.
- Possess a Department of Public Safety Standards & Training (DPSST) Corrections Certificate or the ability to obtain within one year of hire.
- Pass the physical abilities testing as required by DPSST and a written test given by the Sheriff’s Office.
- Possess or ability to obtain a valid Oregon Driver’s license and be able to meet the county’s driving standards.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
