Corrections Officer
Salary: $22.74 to $30.18 per hour
Requirements:
- Applicants must be 18 years of age.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Possess a Maine driver’s license with no major convictions.
- Applicants will also need to successfully pass a background investigation to include: No convictions or conduct for Murder, Class A, Class B, Class C, or Class D crime; or convictions for any violation of the Maine Criminal Code, chapters 15 (theft), 19 (falsification in official matters), 25 (bribery or corrupt matters) or 45 (drugs), or a conviction for any equivalent crime in another jurisdiction outside the State of Maine. Shall be of good moral character, as determined by a thorough background investigation; Shall complete a state and federal criminal records check through the submission of fingerprints to the State Bureau of Identification and the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Where a greater portion of the new curriculum is now “hands-on” the candidate must be deemed medically suitable to participate in the corrections training program by having medical personnel sign the MCJA Medical Form.
