Salary: $22.0215 per hour

Position Summary:

Corrections Officers maintain the safety and security of the Solon Detention Facility while maintaining the care, custody and control of inmates.

The successful candidate will be trained in 160 hours on-the-job training program and will be required to successfully complete the Correction Officer Basic Academy course and become a State Certified Correction Officer; however, preference will be given to those candidates currently holding this certification. CPR, First Aid and AED training are helpful.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be at least nineteen years of age by appointment date.
  • Have excellent communication.
  • Time management and problem solving skills.
  • Applicants must pass a criminal background investigation, voice–stress analyzer, psychological examination and medical examination.
