Certified Police Patrol Officer
Salary: $22.33/hr.
Essential Functions:
- The primary responsibility of the position is general duty police work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances.
- Qualified applicants will possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfactorily perform a variety of duties in accordance with departmental rules and regulations, receiving assignments and instruction from police officers of higher rank, including routine patrol, investigation, and traffic regulation duties.
- Applicants must possess the ability to work and deal with people in a tactful and courteous manner.
- Applicants must be able to read, write, understand, and follow Departmental and City policies, rules, and regulations.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be certifiable or currently certified by the State of New Mexico or willing and able to attend Academy for certification;
- Must pass an academic skills test;
- Be 18 years of age or older;
- Have a valid New Mexico driver’s license;
- A high school diploma or GED;
- Be clear of any narcotic, felony, and/or moral turpitude criminal convictions.
- Any individual offered employment will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical and criminal background check.
