Chugachmiut, the Native tribal consortium serving the Chugach Region, is recruiting for a:
Village Public Safety Officer (VPSO)
Location(s): Port Graham, AK
Employment Status: Full-Time

Dependent on funding from the State of Alaska for the VPSO program. Under direct supervision of the VPSO Coordinator, the community VPSO shall provide public safety services including the enforcement of state laws and local ordinances, participation in the development & emergency response to fire/medical, search & rescue, and participation in educational activities as related to public safety. Works closely with & reports to the VPSO Program Manager, the local village council, and the Alaska State Troopers.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of the TABE test at the 9th Grade level
- EMT or ETT Certification or willingness to complete within six months of hire
- Willingness to attend and complete all required training for CHP Certification
- 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with one hour for lunch.
- This is a full-time 37.5 hours per week, 1950 hours per year position.
