University Police Officer I or II
Salary: $24.69 / hour – $51,500 annually.
Essential Functions:
Performs the full range of law enforcement and public safety duties as a sworn police officer. Responsible for patrol, crime prevention, criminal investigation, special event security, and other law enforcement and security duties as assigned.
Requirements:
UPO I
- High school diploma or GED, valid non-commercial Class C or equivalent driver’s license. Employees in this job class are required to achieve and maintain certification as specified by the Maryland Police Training Commission and must meet the minimum standards of appointment for Probationary Police Officer as established by the Maryland Police Training Commission.
UPO II
- Certification as a sworn police officer recognized by the Maryland Police Training Commission and a Field Training program. Applicants who have satisfactorily completed a Maryland Police Training Commission recognized or approved Police Academy Training program and a Police Field Training program and have been certified as a sworn Police Officer recognized by the Maryland Police Training Commission may be appointed at the rank of University Police Officer II.
