Special Agent – Predatory Crimes

To manage and conduct the State’s most complex and sensitive felony investigations and to provide investigative and training assistance to local and federal law enforcement agencies and other criminal justice organizations, thereby enhancing the safety and well-being of Minnesotans through the efficient apprehension, prosecution of suspected felons.

Agents in this position will also be required to be on-call and respond outside of the normal business hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

 

Salary Range: $32.41 – $42.83/hourly; $67,672 – $89,429/annually

Minimum Qualifications

In order to receive full credit for your skills and abilities, please provide specific information (dates) to ensure that you meet the full-time investigative experience criteria.
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
1.) A two year degree from an accredited institution with four years full-time experience as a licensed peace officer conducting felony-level criminal investigations with a law enforcement agency
OR
2.) A four year degree from an accredited institution plus one or more years of full-time experience as a licensed peace officer conducting felony-level criminal investigations with a law enforcement agency
OR
3.) A four year degree from an accredited institution, four or more years as a licensed peace officer, plus one of the following specialized skillsets:
Fluency in a foreign language.
Degree or certification in accounting or other financial specialty.
Degree or certification in technology related specialty or computer science.
Demonstrated advanced computer skills
Juris Doctorate.
4.) Applicants must be licensed as a peace officer in the State of Minnesota or be eligible to be licensed as a peace officer in the State of Minnesota.
5.) Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation, physical and psychological examination prior to hire.
6.) Must reside within 35 miles of the assigned office and must reside within the state of Minnesota.
7.) Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications
1) Four year degree from an accredited institution.
2) Fluency in a foreign language.
3) Specialized skillset.
