Position Summary: This customer service position writes miscellaneous police reports, receives monies, processes bond papers and escorts persons released from police custody. Makes copies of police reports, performs record checks for employment, gathers reports, compiles statistics for agency reporting purposes, and performs general office duties. Enters and edits data into computer terminal and will be cross trained in all areas of the police records unit. Trained in the areas of Mules and NCIC terminal information and performs related duties.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with one year clerical or customer service experience preferred in a law enforcement agency. Selected applicants will be asked to take a computer and typing test (minimum 35 wpm). Ability to pass a written examination of the Missouri Sunshine Laws, NIMS level training, and Mules within first 6 months of hire.

Physical Working Conditions: Hand dexterity for office machine operation. Frequent standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Stooping or bending to files and shelves.

Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed at a desk or counter in a public lobby

Must be available for shift work and weekends with days off rotating every 28 days.

Hours Of Work: 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. or 4 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Additional Requirements: Requires a valid driver’s license, drug testing and a comprehensive background check, including a polygraph and psychological.
