Police Supervisor I
Salary: $65,781
Position Summary:
Position serves as the unit supervisor and provides direct supervision to subordinate officers; Performs patrol duties when not engaged in supervisory duties including but not limited to: responds to calls for service or crimes, investigates violations of law of university rules, prepares written reports on serious incidents or as required, enforces parking and traffic rules, engages in crowd and traffic control, patrols and inspects buildings and facilities for safety or security concerns, coordinates with higher authority on special traffic, law enforcement, or safety concerns; conducts monthly evaluations of subordinates’ performance; performs related duties as directed; enters shift data into a computer and performs extensive work in computer applications such as word processing, database, and spreadsheets; provides training for the shift, including documentation of such training; coordinates with Lieutenant for the provision of any special services; assists in the field training of new recruits; makes appropriate assignment of shift employees according to the needs of the department; serves on university committees as required.
Requirements:
- A minimum of an associate degree (or 60 hours of college credit) and 4 years of sworn law enforcement officer experience.
- Current certification from NC CJETSC as a commissioned police officer or certification eligible within an agency specified time frame.
