Police Recruit (Current Academy Attendee)

Salary: $7,223.00 Monthly

Position Summary:

Under direction, utilizes specialized training and equipment to protect life and property by enforcing laws and preventing crimes.

The Salinas Police Department is seeking enthusiastic individuals ready to start their careers in law enforcement. This is an entry-level position for the Police Officer series. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the desire to serve their local community and be a part of a winning team. Applicants who have been accepted to a Police Academy and/or are currently attending are eligible to apply for this opportunity. This recruitment may be closed at any time once a sufficient number of applications have been received. Essential Functions:

1. Successfully complete all required courses to receive a P.O.S.T. certificate

Requirements:

• An example of the education and experience which most likely demonstrates the skills, knowledge and abilities required to perform the duties would be any combination equivalent to completion of the 12th grade or GED
• A valid State of California Driver’s License.
