Police Officer (Township Constable)

Under the direction of the Police Sergeant:
Patrols an assigned area in order to protect residents of the township and their property; responds to emergency calls and complaints; demonstrates initiative in monitoring traffic and enforcing laws; issues citations and makes arrests of suspected criminals; investigates and gathers evidence at crime scenes; interviews witnesses and suspects; conducts traffic accident investigations, performs House-Watch, provides security checks at public and private facilities; provides emergency services (e.g., first aid).
This position involves strict attention to details, rules, regulations, court orders, laws, ordinances, and policies.
Must be OPOTC Certified at the time of hire. HS diploma required. Must be 21 years old, and posses a valid driver’s license. No history of felonies, DV, or crimes of aggression. Must have favorable employment history and willingness to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Preference given to veteran, bi-lingual, or social worker applicants.
