Police Officer / New or Lateral Transfer
Salary: $37.79 – $48.44 Hourly

Position Summary:
Police Officers maintain order, keeping the peace and responding to citizen’s needs by discouraging crimes through high-visibility policing, investigative capability and the subsequent reporting and apprehension of suspected violators of the law. The position reports to the Police Sergeant.

- Compile Reports
- Perform other duties as apparent or assigned (within the ability and resources of the Police Officer) at the verbal or written direction of the Chief of Police, Police Captains, Police Sergeants or their designee
Requirements:
- Must possess an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or equivalent qualifications meeting the State of Minnesota’s requirements to become an Officer
- Must possess POST license or be POST license eligible
- Must possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license, or when residing in another state, a valid driver’s license from that state
- Must be a citizen of the U.S. or eligible to work in the U.S. under federal requirements
- Must satisfactorily pass a physical agility test
- Must satisfactorily pass a criminal history check
- Must satisfactorily pass a psychological examination
- Must satisfactorily pass a physical examination and drug screen
- One year of experience as a licensed police officer
- Have completed the probationary period with a U.S. Agency
- License with the Minnesota POST Board, or eligible to be licensed by the date of hire
- Current proof of EMR Certification
- Record of recent Use of Force and Firearms qualifications
