Police Officer (Multiple Opportunities)
Position Summary:
The officer is responsible for protecting life and property utilizing effective crime prevention techniques, and apprehending criminals. The officer will enforce university, state and applicable federal laws, regulations and policies. The officer may be assigned to traffic and crowd control as well as securing buildings after business operations have ceased. The officer must be able to act soundly without direct supervision, and to exercise independent judgment in dealing with emergency situations.

Requirements:
- Must be physically fit and able to walk, run, climb, and crawl to the extent prescribed by the Board on Law Enforcement Standards and Training.
- Candidate must have good verbal communication as well as written communication skills.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle including a car, truck, ATV, or other vehicles.
- The candidate must be a board-certified police officer, able to obtain a transitional status by being Post certified in another state or be able to obtain POST certification within one (1) year of appointment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Applicants must be certified as a Law Enforcement Officer through P.O.S.T. (Peace Officers Standard and Training), POST certified in another US State, currently in the Academy or obtain POST certification within one (1) year of appointment.
Preferred Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree or an undergraduate degree in a related field is preferred.
