The Civil Service Commission for the City of Omak will conduct Lateral Level police officer testing. There is currently an opening for two police officers with the Omak Police Department. Successful applicants will be placed on a Lateral Level Police Officer Eligibility List from which candidates may be drawn to fill the open position.

Testing will consist of completion of an application and an Oral Review Board interview. There is no physical ability test required. Applicants must keep in mind that the completed application will be scored for neatness, clarity, legibility and composition. It will be counted as part of the final test score. Applicants will be notified of the testing dates after the application due date.

Salary for Lateral Level, Academy-trained experienced officer, will range between $5,494 and $5,782 per month, depending upon experience.

The following minimum qualifications must be met to receive an application:
-State Police Academy certified
-at least one full year as a law enforcement officer, post Academy
-willing to submit to medical, polygraph and/or psychological exam
-available for full-time employment when contacted
-pass background check and other departmental requirements
